Argentina Province Threatens to Revoke BP Unit Oil License

Bloomburg -- Argentina’s Chubut province is reviewing the operating license of BP Plc (BP/)’s main oil field in the country and may revoke it, the provincial oil minister said.

The review started after operations were interrupted last month during a workers’ protest, Minister Ezequiel Cufre said in an interview in Buenos Aires. BP owns the Cerro Dragon concession in southern Argentina through its 60 percent stake in Pan American Energy LLC.

An estimated 54 percent of the oil field’s output was restored as of June 30 following a strike by construction workers who sought the same pay as oil workers. Pan American has said it may fire construction workers who went on strike for almost three weeks and damaged company property

How unfair that the workers should ask for parity in their wages. They should beg the master for a subsistence wage and be paid in scrip from the company store.

Argentina is probably not happy about getting smaked around over the Faulkland Islands. Why do business with them guys?

Not a surprise, Argentina and England have not been the best of friends as far as countries go. Something to do with the Falkland Islands.
