Evaluating last week's prediction for this week, I said "By next Monday, I expect the national average in the U.S. to drop to $2.85 while prices in Canada will drop to 104.9c/L." Taking a look this morning, the average is $2.859 for the U.S. and 105.9c/L in Canada. While I was close to the U.S. average, the average in Canada actually moved higher, so I'll call it "close".

With wholesale markets uneasy to start this week, we may see wholesale prices climb the entire week while retail prices drop for the first few days before holding steady or rising later in the week.

We continue to watch outside influences on gasoline prices, such as an EU bailout in Ireland and military maneuvers in North and South Korea.

at least the stations along my route are relatively stable. They may jump, but then stay while other stations do some major yo-yo games.

i'll do a 6 month outlook. next spring it will most likly consume 60% of your income to get back and forth to get work. then add 30% for food food cost. then 20% on city services (trash, water, ect.), then mortgages then so on and so on. oh wait a minute no money left after city services. ah this can't happen were gonna become energy independent wright. then i woke up. yep fuel cost still sucks in so-cal.

Doesn't mater what all these "experts" guess, it the refiners and suppliers that define ur pricing. Rarely is value driven by the end users, Long lines at Costco. but that it.

America has cut consumption but oil suppliers and Speculators will continue to push prices higher. World demand will keep consumption up more than we can decrease due to other countries growth in use. Everyone knows we will need about the same or more petroleum for at least 20 yrs. Therefore we must increase Drilling & production of Shale oil within the USA & stop speculation in the USA.

drilling our own...what an inspirational concept....maybe it could be coded in subliminal messages and beamed to Congress, and maybe even to the acting president during his sleep

Yeah, the important stuff like if one country that doesn't affect us at all has to go on welfare or two other countries (who ought to go to war and be done with it once and for all anyway) went to heck and somehow affected our oil imports........ we'd only have enough stored for 8 months and we might even have to start drilling for our own.....

I say that the oil companies profits are still at an all time high and the consumers money are at an all time low. Not to mention the result of all this which is an even worse economy imagined while the rich get richer and stronger and the poor are getting poorer and weaker.

was down to 2.65 this morning and now jumped to 2.89 but that is a lower price after the last jump that went to 2.98. it is still way to high for the demand.

Predictions aren't worth anything unless they match the price at the pump. Then they should be called luck.

Let's see what happens here. There has been a penny or two drop in the past couple of days. I suppose it could drop for a couple of weeks before it goes back up for the Christmas Holiday traffic.
