It ended just as quick as it came. Prices that had made their way down to the $2.30's in some Midwestern states are gone just as quickly as they came.

$2.38 was spotted in Ohio, $2.34 in Indiana, $2.39 in Michigan, $2.51 in Illinois, $2.55 in Wisconsin, and $2.46 in Kentucky in the last 48 hours, but those prices will slowly be vanishing as the day progresses. Prices have been increased at hundreds of stations- here is what you can expect.

Michigan (and all cities): $2.75
Twin Cities: $2.79
Indiana (and all cities): $2.69
Ohio (and all cities): $2.65
Lexington: $2.65
Louisville: $2.75

Wholesale prices, responsible for most of the at pump cost, has begun to increase in the last 24 hours...

""bounce"" higher would indicate a drop in the prices recently; anybody seen that one?

In a nearby larger city, my favorite station boosted its regular price from 2.49 to 2.63 practically overnight, while some station prices in the same city stayed the same! I see no rhyme nor reason to what is going on here.

Yep, with crude now OVER $80 per barrel, you better hurry up and go fill the tank. I surely did.

Expect gas prices to jump by 15¢ or more, immediately.

I report gas prices, monitor crude futures, and read reports about inventories. That said It isn't necessary for GasBuddy to give notice of rising prices to me ............. but since they said they sent to affected states. Based on this article it makes me wonder if I am in said affected state.

Here in Escondido, Vons gas went up 2 cents Wednesday and then another 6 cents Thursday. Don't know what to expect tomorrow morning. Wish I had filled up Tuesday. 2.85 now and some of the stations are well over 3 dollars. Calif. is always higher than most states.

The low price stations around central NJ range between $2.35 - $2.37 per regular gallon.

Yesterday prices went up about 2 cents in my local area (from $2.33-5 to $2.37).

The higher priced stations have not changed their prices - for at least a month, or more.

Where pump prices were low, big jumps experienced. Where pump prices were higher, the increase was less. Makes sense to me.

Wasn't it great back in the late 80's and early 90's when prices were pretty stable. I don't ever remember 25-30 cent jumps overnight like we have here on a regular basis now.

Every time the government issues their information and it shows a drop in inventories, prices go up. Here is another area where the government doesn't help the tax payer. The oil industry really needs very little excuse to raise prices. Can't say the same for LOWERING prices when the report is favorable to the consumer.

From $2.37 to $2.59 on Tues., now back down to $2.55 in the St louis area. On the Illinois side, from $2.59 to $2.75.

I have been posting that as things in the economy improve, the price of fuel will be going up. I am not saying I am right, just that it is happening. Our way out is alternatives and hybrids to beat the price. Do not be fooled by big oil. Conservation keeps your money in your pocket.

Big oil found the way to handle that in Utah. The prices were not allowed to go down. Ten days ago the price was $2.85 or $2.89 in the Millcreek area of the Salt Lake valley. Today they are $2.85. If you don't quit gouging then everything remains status quo.
