Indiana refinery workers got a surprise when they opened a crate of valves from India and found the remains of two small monkeys, which had been there for at least a year.

"Sadly in this age of global transport of goods and materials, sometimes wildlife finds its way into overseas shipments," BP Plc spokesman Scott Dean said on Thursday. "We believe this is just a sad case of the animals becoming trapped in a large shipping container."

Workers at BP's 405,000-barrel-per-day (bpd) Whiting, Indiana, refinery found the remains on Wednesday in a large crate of valves, Dean said.

The 5-foot (1.5-meter) by 10-foot (3-meter) wooden crate, containing valves for a $4.4-billion upgrade of the refinery currently underway, was shipped from India and arrived at a Louisiana warehouse in June 20

Valves from India? What happened to buy American?

During the debate on the Keystone XL pipeline, a number of arrogant igorant GasBuddies were whining and complaining (using false information)that the pipes for KXL were from India and China (even though the pipes were manufactured from steel mills in the USA)and not made in the USA. These false argument were put forward becasue TransCanada is a Canadian pipeline company.

This $4.4 billion refinery expansion is a made in USA project. The refinery is in Whiting, Indiana. Engineering, procurement and construction were performed by USA engineering and construction companies. The valves were made in India!! Where are those ignorant arrogant idiots now?

Wow. The feds can find two infected grapes in a large shipment, but can't find dead monkeys. Where are our priorities?

Is the "glitch" that Big Oil is talking about that is causing a price jump in the great lakes area?

At least it is was not deadly snakes from India, guess BP can not find a US manufacture for the valves. Hope the valves hold up over time.
