Nice rebuttal MidNJ!
Can we not celebrate 800 new jobs in San Antonio...not a big town...where the jobs will really make a difference!

the oil and fracking state employs 800 solar Pv folks in san antonio alone??
how many similar sized cities in TX?
renewable energy is limitless where ever the sun shines, wind blows, water flows, or the earth glows...
even the epicenter of the fossil fooler industry can't stifle the renewable folks...
and I'll bet they are trying too! Hah! Power 2 the People!!!!

Folks, glad you will have some jobs, just don't spend all your income cause history shows these jobs will be short lived. Kinda pissy if you ask me to get everyone fired up just to let them down.

That should give the people from Solyndra a place to go back to work.

Government corruption, payoffs, and subsidies are going to happen in any project of size. It's sad but true. At least this one has some jobs and clean energy for awhile.
Politics simply do not matter anymore...Dem, GOP...they all have their pet projects and pork.

No details on how much subsidy was involved. These deals don't pencil without massive subsidies.

"Nexolon America is the anchor manufacturer in OCI Solar's consortium. It is a subsidiary of South Korea-based Nexolon Co. Ltd., a global maker of components used in solar panels."
Well, at least it isn't the Chinese.

For every one of those 800 jobs, there probably was $1 million worth of subsidies: tax breaks and loan guarantees. Just like Solyndra and Solar 1, the taxpayers money would go down the toilet when the company went bankrupt.
