Last night, "Tigerrrrrrrr" posted all of the King Petroleum stations around greater Boston (Medford, Malden, Woburn and Dedham) at $3.07 regular, after they had all been posted by others in the $3.17 - $3.19 area on Thursday.

I didn't have a chance to drive by any of them myself today, but that seemed unlikely when all other stations are jumping up like crazy everywhere.

Today, various other people are posting the King stations back at their true current prices once again, back in the $3.17 - $3.19 area (except the Dedham one is higher).

Is "Tigerrrrrrrr" trying to get people to King stations for some reason by posting phony prices, or just posting prices that are many days old? It doesn't seem likely that they all lowered to $3.07 on Friday only, and went back up on Saturday. Except for one other independent in Belmont, King seems to be the only brand that "Tigerrrrrrrr" posts.

We have been in contact with the owner of the King Petroleum stations. They have confirmed that the prices that member Tigerrrrrrrr has been posting to the site are the correct prices and that these prices are not discounted prices.

There is an auto repair shop attached to one of the King stations in Malden called "Tiger Auto Service". Coincidence? Maybe. I tried calling all of the phone numbers attached to the King stations last night, but they were all for cell phones with full mailboxes.

All that this phenomenon is going to do is hurt their business. I'm in Medford/Malden all of the time to visit friends; no way am I going to fill up at these stations after all of this nonsense. I wonder if others feel the same way?

Maybe if Tigerrrrr knew this, he'd stop mis-posting.

Hello Patrick ,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

If you notice prices or station information being entered inaccurately, please let us know the username of the poster, the price they posted, station details (station name, address, area, state/province) and approximate time posted, so we can bring it to their attention.

Thanks for your help.

Regards,

Tigerrrrrrrr is an id10t

posting prices for dedham and beverly simultaneously.

any stations that aren't 'his' get higher posting from him. any of 'his' stations get lower prices.

moderators need to do something about him.

He's at it again by posting Pezzi's in Chelsea at 3.69. The real price is 3.49.

I have heard alot of bad stuff about King P some it must be true. I can't believe people still go there.

As far as pricing goes. The rack price of fuel had a some major swings this week. One day was +6 cents next day was -8 cents. So it is possible that some stations went up because they were unfortunate and got gas on an upswing day.

To me, it looks like a ploy to mis-post some of the cheapest stations nearby as HIGHER than they are and also mis-post to make the King stations look LESS than they actually are. He needs to be found and banned.

More phony prices for the King stations on Salem St. Medford today, one from "Tigerrrrrrrr" posting the 348 Salem St. station at $3.49 seven hours ago (allegedly at the same time he "saw" the one in Dedham), and one from "anuj_pushkarna" posting the 353 Salem St. station also at $3.49 three hours ago.

I was in the area two hours ago today (just before 3 PM), and all three of the King stations on Salem St. are actually at $3.57 regular/cash. I don't know whether I believe that they were actually eight cents lower just one to five hours earlier. I just updated the postings with the correct prices and time.

He also posted the Best in Peabody 10 cents higher than before. He is just trying to get all of "HIS" stations on the front page.

He is posting wrong prices again. I posted Super Petroleum in Saugus at $3.55 An hour later he posted the price at $3.65 The price did not change.

1960sDJ, thanks for trying to make sure you postings are as accurate as possible. If Tigerrrrrr would do this, his postings would be easier to believe.

I always use the dropdown menu to post prices at the closest time to when I saw them, but it looks like few other posters use it at all.

It looks like most posters just post with the time they're able to get on their computer, without changing it.

In response: you should post them and select the closest appropriate time in the drop down menu. If I see gas at 8:30 on my way to work, but enter it at 12:00 PM, I enter it as spotted at 8:30 and not 12:00.

With regard to "., and posting Dedham, Woburn and Medford prices at the exact same time." -- I will frequently note the prices of stations that I pass in my travels but I may not be able to post those prices for a while. If I am going to a meeting or some other activity that does not allow me access to my computer I have no choice but to wait until I get home or somewhere that does provide an opportunity to post the data.

He's back. Duplicate posting of the location near Almont St., and posting Dedham, Woburn and Medford prices at the exact same time.

Paulg - I've been there myself, and I know what you mean. But often he posts them with the same street address number and adds an extra space or character so they can be posted more than once.

I have consistently turned him in because of duplicate posting as well. Several times the same King Petroleum station was listed 2-3 times on the front page! Some of my research indicates that this isn't the most reliable place to fill up, either, but that's besides the point.

His (or her) profile says joined Dec 20, 2010. Total Points: 33,550

Haven't seen a post for a week now, but was previously reporting King stations regularly.
